Telfien Viurraanvi

(Ultimate Group Project edition)

When Master Phruby of the JediDefender Forums put out a call for figures for the Ultimate Group Project (UGP) fan-made, action-figure-scaled diorama to be featured at Star Wars Celebration IV (May 24-28, 2007, in Los Angeles), I started by sending him a package of ten assorted female figures from among my customs. (These may be seen here.)

One thing was missing, though. I felt the desire to send him a custom of my Gand female, Telfien, but had trouble deciding which one to send. I had cold feet about entrusting Mark I, my first custom figure ever, to the tender mercies of the U.S. Postal Service, and Mark II didn’t make sense, since she would be maskless in what presumably was an oxygenous setting.

So, I decided simply to make a new version of Telfien, just for the occasion. Like Mark I, she is based on the body of POTJ Bespin Escape Leia, with the repainted head of a POTF2 Zuckuss (natch) and the legs from Vintage Zuckuss (“4-LOM”). I sewed her gold satin robes by hand. As finishing touches, I gave her the harness from Pirates of the Caribbean III Elizabeth Swann (Singapore Disguise), to which I added side strips out of brown trim, and the staff from POTF2 Saelt-Marae (Yak Face).

Here are a few photos of Telfien in the UGP diorama, where she appeared to be selling ceramics in a fantastic market booth constructed by fellow customizer Erik Chavel. The first was taken by myself; the second, I’m not sure -- if any other forum members out there know, do pass it on!
