Zuckuss

(Super-articulated, VOTC/VTSC-style)

Some time ago Beedo suggested I make one of these. It seemed only logical, seeing as how Hasbro now has super-articulated renditions of just about every other bounty hunter. He suggested I use the fantastically articulated VTSC Luke Skywalker (Pilot) for the body, and go from there using the usual Gand fodder.

I followed his suggestion, except I accidentally ruined one of the Luke arms and had o end up using VTSC Greedo arms instead, which are maybe a touch too long; I may rework them at some point. I repainted the Luke body in earth tones, removed the chest box, shaved down some of the Luke chest details, and sculpted some armor or sorts, loosely based on that of the POTF2 Zuckuss. Here’s an older work-in-progress-photo showing what he looked like under his cloak -- I think he might still have the Luke arms, too:
The head, of course, is from POTF2 Zuckuss (the only one out there besides the vintage one), and the hands are from Saga Djas Puhr. And, of course, I sewed him a proper cloth cloak.

One detail remained, however. One thing that always bugged me about the POTF2 Zuckuss (pun only halfway intended) was that his two tubes, which are supposed to be part of his breathing apparatus, were just hanging there loose, not connected to anything. Interestingly enough, the Zuckuss image from the New Essential Guide to Characters (Del Rey, 2002) adopts the free-hanging-tube design. For my own Zuckuss, however, I wanted not only wonderful articulation but also proper breathing tubes.

So, after cutting off the tubes from the POTF2 Zuckuss head, I took a couple of those twist ties that hold 12” figures into their boxes, painted them brown, and then attached them in place of the free-hanging ones. And there you have it!

And, returning briefly to his new, improved articulation, he can now sit down and meditate!
Finally, as a reward for reading this far, and just for fun: a tiny Gandish bonus!
