This is Leia as she appears in the comic adaption of Dark Force Rising, pregnant with Jedi twins Jacen and Jaina. She was a simple enough custom, but she also took me about a year to finally paint and finish, and sat unpainted through my first two years of graduate school.
James McAllaster’s “Leia with Child” was a huge inspiration for this custom (thanks, James!), though mine ended up with a bigger tummy than his. Like James, I used the body from the Princess Leia Colection A New Hope Leia with an added Sculpey tummy. The head comes from POTF2 Slave Leia, whose braided hairdo I replaced with a bit of Sculpey and the braid from POTJ Deluxe Slave Leia.
The original paint job turned out way too glossy, so, on the advice of my co-hobbyists at the Customizing Forums at Rebelscum.com, I sprayed the whole thing with Testors Dullcote about five times. You can still see a bit of shine in the pictures, but you just have to believe me that it’s due to the lighting, not the paint.
