A bonus custom I made on a whim: Maetel, sometime princess of the planet La Metalle, heroine of Maetel Legend, Galaxy Express 999 and other films by Leiji Matsumoto. (Visit the Maetel Legend site for further informatoin and reference pictures.)
Now I don’t really know anything about this character at all, and I admit that I have never seen any of the animé in which she appears. But I saw some Maetel Legend figures, including Maetel (the base of this custom) and her feisty pirate sister Emeraldas, clearanced at the local comic shop, and was struck by the design of the characters. After a bit of web research and a fabric store trip, I decided to stitch her this outfit. The skirt is from the Ceremonial Leia from the Princess Leia Collection, to which I added the white “fur” trim. Her hat and shawl are hand-sewn.
