Not the world’s most exciting custom, nor the hardest, but one that needed to be made, for completeness’ sake. This is Princess Leia as we see her at the very end of The Empire Strikes Back, when she and Luke are looking out the big window of the Rebel medical frigate as Chewie and Lando fly off in the Millennium Falcon to rescue Han. She’s basically wearing the same white dress she wore in A New Hope, only with a different (more normal-looking) hairdo.
The head is from POTJ Bespin Escape Leia; I removed the braids and added a bun made of Sculpey. (Other Sculpey hairdos can be found on Saché, the Rebel Cheerleader, the Dark Woman, Aurra Sing (Jedi Padawan), and the “bonus Handmaiden.”) You can’t see it, but the body belonged to the Princess Leia Collection Ceremonial Leia, who is wearing the dress that belonged to Princess Leia Collection ANH Leia (the one that came with R2-D2).
“You silly goose!” you may exclaim. “Why didn’t you just put the Bespin Escape Leia head onto the ANH Leia body?” That was my original plan, but the stance of the ANH Leia just seemed too flexed and active for the very somber final scenes of Empire. The Ceremonial Leia body was more sedate and statuesque, which seemed more appropriate for a scene in which Leia just stands there.
