Here is Diva Shaliqua, Jabba the Hutt’s beloved harem girl from the early days (i.e. the podrace scene in The Phantom Menace). I already had the perfect Slave Leia leftovers from making the Imperial
Cheerleader, along with the wonderful Jabba’s Dancers 3-pack
donated very kindly by A. Nonymous, so making my own version of “this cerulean-haired lovely,” as Mr. Nonymous calls her, was only the
logical thing to do. His Shaliqua figure can be viewed here.
I pretty much followed all of the instructions that Mr. Nonymous gives
for his version, using Rystáll’s head and feet, Episode I Darth
Maul’s pants, and Slave Leia’s torso. However, unlike A.
Nonymous, I was lazy and didn’t use the peg-and-socket
technique to attach Rystáll’s feet to Maul’s pants legs.
Also, instead of painting her neck-gap black (because A. Nonymous is completely
right about her head wobbling around a lot), I gave her the
choker end of Slave Leia’s chain, painted dark brown, which hides the
neck wobblage at least partially.
Finally, what would a Findswoman custom be if the Findswoman didn’t
tell you every single last paint color she used? The Diva
required a lot of painting, some of it pretty detailed. Her hair is a
mixture of French blue with white; her pants a mixture of white, red,
and Purple Pearl; the rest of her outfit a mixture of Testors Model
master Acryl “leather” and flat black with gold accents; her feet tan,
with white and black Sharpie accents; and to make her face the proper
Caucasian-Human-flesh color, I mixed my Testors Model Master Acryl tan
with a drop or two of my Tamiya flat red. (By way of a tip for other
customizers out there: that mixture works great for the Caucasian flesh
tone -- add brown to darken, white to lighten.)
As finishing touches, I went over her eyebrows with black paint on the
point of a toothpick, did her lipstick in Tamiya flat red, and made her
a couple of bracelets out of bent gold-tone wire (from a dollhouse pair
of spectacles).
