Camie, played by Koo Stark, is one of Luke’s Tatooine friends who only appears in the cut Anchorhead scene, along with her beau Fixer and a very dashing Biggs Darklighter. When some of my colleagues on the FFURG FForums started posting reference pictures of her, I knew I had to make a custom figure of her. (After all, who is the Findswoman to say no to customizing an obscure female character?)
First, I put the repainted head from POTF2 Ewok Celebration Leia on a repainted Ep. I Adi Gallia body. I needed to add some epoxy putty to the neck, since the Ewok Leia neck was both a bit small and a bit short for the Adi Gallia neck hole. To get Camie’s tunic to look right, I shaved the “greeblies“ off of Adi’s belt and cut the plastic skirt shorter, then added the shortened skirt from an ROTS Agen Kolar. Her belt is just a piece of off-white ribbon. I didn’t realize until after finishing the custom that Camie has bare legs under her skirt in the reference photo, while my custom is still wearing Adi Gallia’s pants! At that point, though, I just decided to leave well enough alone -- it’s all under the skirt, after all.
As you can see in the two photos above, Camie is the first custom of which I’ve made a double to send to someone else. Meccano-Man from the FFURG FForums designed this fabulous Camie vintage-style cardback and was interested in a figure to go on it. As it happens, I had enough parts on hand to make an (almost) identical second Camie figure to send him. The only difference is that somehow, mine ended up with longer hair. I guess custom action figures, like Navajo rugs, really are all different and unique!
(Please note: I do not usually make customs on commission, since I believe that 99% of the fun is making them oneself -- thus, please do not ask me to do so. The only reason I did so this time was because I just happened to have enough parts to make two.)
